Alison Hall

Woolly Wonderlings

For as long as she can remember Alison has been in love with the world of textiles and fibres. She discovered needle felting in 2012 and began creating character dolls, experimenting with faces and  expressions.

Alison needle felts pet portraits, sculptures, 2 ft tall mini-me’s, and loves to try any idea that comes to mind. She finds that wet felting abstract paintings and objects frees her to explore colour, texture, shape, and embellishment such as embroidery.

She is concerned about the climate crisis, fast fashion in our landfills, women’s rights, wildlife and environment protection. Truth, justice and freedom are fundamental to her being. Her work is often just meant to put a big smile on people’s faces.

She lives in Kitchener on the inspirational Grand River with her wife Sarah, and their rascally chihuahua, Pip.
